A budget week does not have to begin on Sunday or Monday. Inside a salary-cycle budget, it can begin on the salary date and continue in consecutive windows of up to seven days.
A practical explanation grounded in Cash
The first budget window begins on the active salary-cycle start date. Each following window begins immediately after the previous one ends.
The final window can be shorter than seven days when fewer days remain before the next salary cycle.
Window allowance equals the canonical daily safe-to-spend amount multiplied by the actual number of days in that window. A four-day final window therefore receives four days of allowance, not seven.
Weekly spending and weekly allowance must use exactly the same start and end dates. Mixing calendar-week spending with a salary-cycle allowance produces a misleading result.
